Entries from Dorset Uk only.

Closing date for receipt of entries: 30th March 2007.

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published.

Please complete one entry form per entrant, not per school.

Entries can be typed or hand-written but MUST be legible.

Entries must be single sided (written on only one side of the paper) with the pages numbered and securely fastened.

Stories should not have the entrant's name and address on them. This information should only be on the entry form.

Age group is dependent on the entrant's age on the closing date of 30th March 2007.

Photocopied entry forms are acceptable.

No competitor may win more than one prize in each category.

The judges decision is final.

Prizewinners will be notified in writing by Friday 18th May.

The prize of a writer for the day is awarded to the school of the first prizewinner in each category.

Winning schools will be contacted to confirm the date that the writer will visit and to discuss what they would like the writer to do during their day visit.

If a winner does not attend a school then an alternative community venue will be found to host a creative writing session for the winner and their friends.

The entry fee is £2 per story payable in sterling by cheque or postal order.

Cheques must be from a UK bank and should be made payable to Dorset County Council., with the senders name and address on the back.

Entries are not returned: keep a copy!

Entry implies acceptance of all the rules.

Failure to comply with the entry requirements may result in disqualification.
