Q10. Does copyright remain with me?
Copyright protects the creator of a work from having it copied,
published or broadcast in any way until s/he has given
permission. Copyright exists automatically without any
registration being necessary.
The author is the person responsible for the creation of a work
and, in general, the author of a work is the first owner of any
copyright in it.
By entering the Bridport Prize you agree to the rules of the
competition which state:-
Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author, but
the Bridport Prize will have the unrestricted right to publish
the winning poems and stories, (including runners up), in the
annual anthology. Winning poems may also be published in 'Poetry
Review.'
